In redesigning and reorganizing the storage areas for this project, the priority was the protection of works of art potentially exposed to fire risk from adjoining premises that did not normally serve as exhibition areas and that, unlike the exhibition areas and preexisting storage facilities, were not equipped with the latest and most effective firefighting equipment.
The master plan thus called for the installation of a fire-resistant false ceiling that would protect the roof as well as the replacement of doors, windows, and shutters that faced onto the internal covered courtyard of the new stairway and main dining room of the restaurant.
