2010 - 2013
This project involved the creation of a new interior layout for the Coop shopping center aimed at reducing the supermarket and creating space for new retail stores.
In response to a demand for expansion of commercial opportunities in the shopping center, connecting spaces open to the public were expanded to create a new internal nucleus, designated “Esplò,” which is substantially an interior piazza designed with modular pavilions adaptable for any conceivable commercial or educational purpose. The design of these new spaces was carefully conceived in specialized professional teams and stands as a prototype for similar projects in the future.
Because work on this project had to proceed without interrupting commercial activities on the site, an extremely complex plan was adopted that called for work sites to be opened at different stages according to the requirements of the various businesses operating in the center.
